Young hopes in the house of elderlies
Zafar, Mehroj and Vatan – three sons of Mouminovs’ family have been lucky enough not to die from a disease in their childhood. The destiny left them alive, but took their ability to walk in return. In juvenile age, brothers have been brought to the special home for elderly and disabled persons in Vahdat city, located at 160 kilometers far from their home in Vose district. It is the seventh winter the brothers are sharing their happiness and sadness with other people in this house, most of them are lonely elderly.
There are more than 90 residents living in the elderly house in Vahdat city. Some of them are here already for ten years, some of them are just comparatively recently been brought to the elderly house. Some of them have relatives, but are not visited by them; some others do not have any close person except their roommates in the elderly house and the service personnel. And all of them need support, not only material, but moral as well.
A delegation of IFRC and RCST representative including the management of both organizations visited Vahdat city elderly house on February 15, 2012. Hikmatullo Aminov, director of the elderly house was glad of this visit and thanked the guests for the donation of such food products as flour, oil, rice, potatoes, tea, and other food items and invited them to meet the elderly house residents personally.
ҚАЛБҲОИ ҶАВОН ДАР ХОНАИ ПИРОНСОЛОН
31-years old Zafar, the eldest from Mouminovs’ brothers, tried to hide his emotions and kept his eyes dry, when visitors from the Red Cross/Red Crescent shook his and his brothers’ hands expressing words of support and inspiration. He said, he was very glad that he was not forgotten and felt material and moral support of the Red Crescent.
Adolat Abdulloeva, who lives three rooms far from the brothers, poured tea to Sa’dullo Murodov’s cup and passed it to him. Sa’dullo and Adolat have been staying in the elderly house for past six years and couple of years ago they decided to connect their lives. The newly married couple brought new source of joy to the elderly house inspiring 90 other residents of it to love the life more and more, despite of all the problems of the elderly and lonely disabled resident of a special house located in one remote corner of Tajikistan. They say, life is beautiful, especially when people with good deed (some do-gooders) leave all their work and drive 20 kilometers to visit them and say some good words, which make them feel special and needed.
